Happy Anniversary to Rochelle’s special brand of Friday Fiction! I’ve been gone a while, so I’m a bit rusty, but I hope you enjoy my little tale below.
________________________________________________________________________________________________
The Piano Whisperer
Although they did indeed live side by side on the piano keyboard, Ebony and Ivory did not live together in perfect harmony. They argued constantly, and anyone attempting to play their keys caused a cacophony that attracted cats from miles around.
In desperation, the keyboard’s owner called in the Piano Whisperer. He sat at the keyboard and leant in close.
‘Right you little bastards,’ he hissed. ‘Play nice or it’s off to the under-fives Musical Mayhem group, got it?’
The keyboard responded with a perfect rendition of Beethoven’s Ode To Joy.
And they all lived happily and harmoniously ever after.

I was trying to figure out how I could come up with your email address to check in, see how you were doing and say you were missed. And here you are. Your story is still in perfect tune. Hope you are, too.

Thanks Trey. Feels a bit weird being back – a bit like jumping back onto a roundabout going at full pelt. Might take a week or two to get back into the rhythm of it.

Dear EL,
So happy to see my favorite elf back in the fold. 🙂 If this is rusty, bring it on and more of it. Loved the ebony and ivory line. Perfect harmony. Well done. I’m laughing with delight.

Dear El,
You have not lost your touch. I am so glad to read your words again. Perhaps I should become the El Appleby whisperer. Or has that position been filled.
Welcome home.
Aloha,
Doug

Thanks Doug. You can be my whisperer anytime, as long as you’re not as harsh as my piano whisperer!

Hahaha! And a hearty welcome back, El! I missed this story last week since I was out of town and had a story ready and everything. Oh well, that’s show-biz. I see the batteries are fully charged here with the usual El Creative Juices. Good story! Now, if only Paul can get his Beatles music publishing rights back …
